A course with high professional standards

We've developed cutting edge learning materials for areas that include Asthma, Diabetes, Public Health (with an international perspective), Minor Injuries, Palliative Care and Evidence Based Practice, that can be taken as part of the top up, or studied independently as part of your continuing professional development (CPD).

That’s largely due to the fact that we work hard to listen to employers in the health and social care sector when designing and updating this course. There has been significant consultation with Strategic Health Authorities, stakeholders and regulatory bodies. This means you can rely on this course to refresh your skills and keep you up to date with current practice, as well as enhancing your employability.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

As a nurse or health and social care professional, we know that CPD is a vital part of your practice. Although undertaking CPD for your learning and reflective practice is a requirement of maintaining your professional practice, it is also an opportunity to improve the quality of your care. We offer a wide range of exiting standalone 20 credit modules that will quip you with the skills and knowledge to enhance your nursing abilities. Each module in this course is available to take part-time, online and counts towards your CPD.

Interactive and practical learning

This online learning degree is specifically designed by our expert online tutors and contains plenty of opportunities to interact with tutors and other students through online discussion forums, virtual class room sessions and more traditional forms of communication such as email and Skype.

Supported learning

In addition to our academic teams, you’ll be appointed a dedicated online learner advisor who will support you on any non-academic issues throughout your course.

You’ll also benefit from many other university support services such as student wellbeing, eLibrary and resource centre, IT support and careers and employment service.
