Overview

Today, networks are widespread – in organisations, businesses and even homes. These environments call for networks which are tailored to their needs, and a Network Consultant is the individual who assesses these needs and recommends a new network design or ways to improve the existing network.

This fully accredited course will provide you with the understanding you need to determine which network type would suit a specific organisation's needs, as well as the technical knowledge to oversee the implementation of the new design.

Certifications from Cisco are among the most respected in the world, as Cisco is one of the most well-known providers of not just network training but also networking equipment. A CCENT certification will go a long way to prove your abilities when working with routed and switched networks, whether you are seeking a new position in the role or if you have existing networking experience and hope to validate it with a certification.

Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)

Awarded by Cisco Systems

Description

This Networking Consultant course will ensure that you have enough technical understanding to both assess the potential needs of the organisation and design a network to fulfil these needs, or to determine how to improve the network which is already in place. This will require an understanding of network topologies, network types and the hardware that each of these requires, which this course will illustrate to you. You will also learn which network types are best paired with which types of environment and how to ensure that the networks are secure against cyber attacks.

Whether the organisation is upgrading its hardware, expanding or implementing a brand new network, you will be prepared to advise them as to the best course of action, as well as overseeing the installation and set up of these new systems.

This course will ensure that you are ready to write the official Cisco 100-105 ICND1 exam, which will grant you the internationally recognised CCENT certification which will benefit you in both furthering your existing career and in securing a new Network Consultant position.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
