Description

Network Engineers need to be confident communicators as well as problem-solvers. You will be responsible for maintaining the systems allowing organisations to function and communicate, both internally and externally.

Network engineering is one of the more technically demanding IT jobs and with organisations becoming heavily dependent on technology, it is becoming a desired role in any company.

Being able to communicate well in plain English is a vital skill of being a successful Network Engineer as you will be responsible for supporting users, staff, clients, customers and suppliers.

You will support their service requests and troubleshoot problems they may have and therefore, knowledge of key network fundamentals such as local area networks and knowledge of computer operating systems is essential.

The average Network Engineer salary in the UK is currently £50k pa with Junior Engineers at entry level earning around £23k pa.

Whilst the package is fundamentally built around CompTIA Network+ and Cisco CCNA, our course and careers consultants will design a career package which will take into account any existing qualifications you hold and build upon this with industry recognised certification courses for the role.

Our Tutor Support team are qualified in the certifications and are able to support any questions that may arise through your studies.

You will be allocated the support of our mentor team who will assist in creating a study plan and offer you support when you are ready to book your exams.

Beyond this they will work with you to provide you with access to resources enabling you to enhance your c.v. to ensure it is written for your target audience. In addition, to this our recruitment support package will provide you with information on how you may improve your chances in a job interview and what roles you should be targeting.

FAQs

What does study method mean?

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At reed.co.uk courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

What are CPD hours/points?

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on reed.co.uk, many of which can be completed online.

What is a ‘regulated qualification’?

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
