Neonatal Life Support – a classroom course with 6 CPD hours towards your Revalidation

Background

The Newborn Life Support (NLS) course has been developed by the Resuscitation Council (UK) to provide clear practical instruction in airway support and the theoretical background to illustrate its importance in resuscitation of the newborn. It is designed for any healthcare professional, regardless of discipline or status, who may be called upon to resuscitate a newborn baby.

Learning outcomes

It’s yearly refresher course. The aim of the course is to give those responsible for initiating resuscitation at birth the background knowledge and skills to approach the management of a newborn infant during the first 10-20 minutes in a competent manner. The course concentrates on the importance of temperature control, practical airway management and ventilatory support.

Who the Course is aimed at:

Anyone working as a healthcare professional and/or involved in care of the newborn. Midwives, neonatal nurses, and experienced nursing staff will find this course valuable.

Course Programme

The course we run is delivered over one day and consists of lectures, practical skills and a quiz.

The training is certified by Capital Staffing Services. Certificates will be given once passed and are only valid for a year.

The NLS yearly update course is designed for any healthcare professional regularly involved in the delivery and care of the newborn infant. This includes medical and Neonatal nursing staff, midwives, nursery nurses. All applicants must hold a professional healthcare qualification.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
