What is NEBOSH
The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (or NEBOSH for short) was formed in 1979 and became the first health and safety awarding body to be accredited by the UK regulatory authorities in October 2000. NEBOSH qualifications, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate, is recognised and respected across the globe, with over 35,000 people taking the NEBOSH qualification every year. NEBOSH qualifications are globally recognised and taken by people working in all types of industries, as well as national and local government organisations.

The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety provides a broad understanding of the general health and safety issues that affect all types of Organisation and enables risks to be managed effectively. As well as covering a range of workplace hazards and methods of control, it includes the legal system in the UK and related legislation. Our classroom courses involve face-to-face teaching and provide an opportunity to discuss the topics with other students and the tutor and would suit those that enjoy interaction in a classroom environment. It has many features that may be helpful to those students who have not done formal study and examinations for some time.
This highly recommended, entry level course is based on two, one week study periods (Units NGC1 and GC2). This very effective format ensures students retain knowledge from each element and this enables them to attain higher results. Work is set between study periods to re-enforce learning and development. Mock assessments (written and practical) are used throughout the course with individual feedback offered to students to aid their development.
The course is made up of theoretical sessions delivered by your Instructor who will provide a detailed course programme.

2. Health and safety management systems – Plan
3. Health and safety management systems – Do
4. Health and safety management systems – Check
5. Health and safety management systems – Act
GC - 2
1. Workplace hazards and risk control
2. Transport hazards and risk control
3. Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
4. Work equipment hazards and risk control
5. Electrical safety
6. Fire safety
7. Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control
8. Physical and psychological health hazards and control
GC - 3
Practical Assessment – carried out in the workplace require to be completed 10 days after the examination date.
This is a 10 day classroom based course, with an extra day to complete the NGC 1 and GC 2 Examination.

Dependent on the learner’s experience, there may well be some pre-course or post-course reading.
