Achieving The Qualification

  • 36 credits are required for the qualification—21 from mandatory units and 15 from optional units, with at least 21 credits at level 4 or above.

Work/industry placement experience:

  • A minimum of 30 hours of practice is required, along with 3 observations totalling at least 3 hours, each lasting a minimum of 30 minutes.

NB:The learner's supervisor or colleague can oversee the practice and provide a statement of proof or witness testimony with three assessed observations required.

Certification:

As part of the certification process, a nominal fee of £570 you'll be required to pay upon submission of the assignment.

It is important to emphasise that this fee is a one-time requirement associated with the assignment submission and registering with the awarding body. Upon successfully achieving a passing grade for your assignment, you will be duly awarded the certificate of completion, and no further financial obligations will be incurred for this purpose.

Method of Assessment

Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence generated from appropriate assessment tasks, such as assignments, assessed observations, and other relevant activities, that demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes associated with each unit. Upon completing each unit, learners must declare that the work produced is their own, and the assessor will countersign this.

The learner will complete internally assessed work in accordance with the qualification specification.

Guided Learning Hours

Guided learning hours estimate how much time a mentor, classroom facilitator, or other professional educator spends on average consulting with a student, either face-to-face or in real-time, to help the student achieve the course’s learning outcomes at a satisfactory level.

Total Qualification Time

Total Qualification Time comprises the guided learning hours for the qualification and an estimate of the number of hours a learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation, study, or any other form of participation in education or training, including assessment, which takes place as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of, a lecturer, supervisor, tutor, or other appropriate providers of education or training.

Dear Jannat, This qualification is worth 36 credits. It is not entirely assignment-based. It requires at least 30 hours of teaching practice in a formal educational setting, along with three observed teaching sessions (minimum 30 minutes each). There are no written exams, but completing the placement and teaching observations is mandatory.
