Description
Throughout this course you will explore the different ways that slavery persists into the modern world, how widespread modern slavery and human trafficking is. You will explore the industries in the UK most at risk of modern slavery offences and how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted victims.
You will also explore modern slavery in the UK and the UK Government’s Modern Slavery Strategy led by the home office. You will also explore the legal responsibilities that companies have in the UK to prevent modern slavery.
You will also look at the warning signs and symptoms of modern slavery, that can help you to identify potential victims and what you can do as an individual/organisation to notice the warning signs and report them to the appropriate agencies.
In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.
You will earn 3 CPD points on completion of the course, this course will take around 3 hours to complete and the certificate will last for two years.

- Unit 1 – An introduction to modern slavery – In the first unit of our modern slavery course, you will be introduced to what modern slavery and human trafficking mean in practice and the different ways in which they continue to take place both in the UK and across the world.
- Unit 2 – Legislation and government measures – In this unit you will be introduced to how slavery legislation has progressed in modern times across the world and set out in more detail the current laws in the UK. You will also explore the government strategies that are being employed to reduce the prevalence of these crimes.
- Unit 3 – Signs of modern slavery – In this unit you will be introduced to the signs of modern slavery and human trafficking that can help you to identify potential victims, you will also learn about the motivations and drivers behind modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Unit 4 – Safeguarding victims – In the final unit, you will be introduced to what you can do as an individual/organisation to safeguard potential victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, you will explore the personal impact that modern slavery can have on victims and the best ways to approach potential victims and offer them help.
