Description
Microsoft Office Skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project, Access, OneNote) consists of a structured series of lectures followed by an assessment. The course is organised by application, allowing learners to build skills progressively across the Microsoft Office suite.
Microsoft Word lectures introduce document creation and editing. Learners explore getting started, creating documents, working with templates, navigating and selecting text, modifying content, finding and replacing text, formatting text and paragraphs, using advanced font tools, aligning text with tabs, creating lists, and adding and modifying tables. Additional features are introduced to support professional document presentation.
Microsoft PowerPoint lectures focus on creating and delivering presentations. Learners explore getting started, working with text and paragraphs, drawing and editing objects, inserting tables and images, using illustrations and add-ins, managing links and media, applying design features, working with transitions and morph effects, managing animations, and arranging photos and shapes for visual clarity.
Microsoft Excel lectures introduce spreadsheet fundamentals and analysis. Learners explore advanced formulas, interview-focused calculations, date functions, data entry, shortcuts and navigation, macro and VBA awareness, financial functions, audit-style reports, payroll-style calculations, and advanced lookup functions such as INDEX and MATCH. Additional Excel features support analytical thinking and reporting.
Microsoft Outlook lectures focus on professional communication and organisation. Learners explore email creation, calendar appointments, meetings, contacts, tasks, folder organisation, sending and receiving messages, options, and support features used in everyday workplace communication.
Microsoft Project lectures introduce project planning awareness. Learners explore tasks, task hierarchy, durations, task modes, linking and dependencies, project information, resource names and assignments, and basic project cost awareness to support project coordination and planning understanding.
Microsoft Access and OneNote are introduced from an awareness perspective. Learners gain understanding of how Access supports structured data storage and how OneNote supports note-taking, organisation, and collaboration within the Microsoft Office environment.
