This course introduces you to the basic commands, functions and capabilities of Microsoft Excel 2010. It is designed for those who are new to spreadsheets, you will begin to learn how to input data, work with formulas and functions, and then create tables and charts in order to demonstrate figures visually and attractively.

This Microsoft Excel 2010 Beginner (Level 1) course is the first of a 3 level course which is designed to give new spreadsheets users a thorough grounding in understanding and using spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel 2010. Delegates will acquire sufficient skills and knowledge in order to understand the importance of accuracy in Excel, building good formula techniques and applying sound design and formatting principles. Upon completion of this course delegates will develop sufficient skills and knowledge in the following:

  • Understanding how to navigate around Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Creating new workbooks
  • Opening and navigating within workbooks and worksheets
  • Understanding and working with ranges in worksheets
  • Understanding, creating and working with formulas and functions to perform calculations
  • Moving data in Microsoft Excel 2010
  • Understanding and using formula cell referencing to create complex formulas
  • Using Formatting techniques to enhance the appearance of worksheets
  • Aligning cell contents in a variety of ways
  • Understanding and applying number formatting techniques
