The aim of this menopause awareness in the workplace course is to foster understanding, empathy and support in the workplace for those experiencing this significant life transition.

This course is suitable for a wide range of employees who work in various sectors and are ready to find out more about the impact of menopause, increase their awareness of this, or are ready to champion menopause awareness in the workplace.

You will start the course off by exploring the three stages of menopause and eye-opening statistics, which will help you put menopause into perspective, you will also explore the key symptoms that can occur during this transitional period.

You will also explore how menopause can impact a person’s professional performance, addressing challenges that may arise in the workplace due to menopausal symptoms. You will also review the pivotal role of workplace support by uncovering the potential negative consequences of unsupportive environments, which may lead to employees departing or experiencing health-related setbacks.

You will explore the ranges of treatment and how businesses can create a menopause-friendly workplace.

In order to complete the course, you must achieve 80% or more in the final multiple choice quiz.

Throughout this course, we will primarily refer to individuals experiencing menopause as ‘women’. However, it’s essential to recognise that menopause directly impacts anyone with a menstrual cycle, including non-binary, intersex and trans individuals. We are committed to respecting and acknowledging the diversity of personal experiences and seek to create an inclusive space that does not generalise or diminish anyone’s journey.

Units Covered -

  • Unit 1 – Introduction to Menopause – In the first unit of the Menopause Awareness in the Workplace course, you will build your knowledge of menopause and its effects, by exploring the significance of menopause awareness in the workplace.
  • Unit 2 – The Impacts of Menopause – This unit will explore the impacts of menopause on individuals and their daily lives, both within and outside the workplace, including encompassing sleep patterns, physical well-being, emotional balance and mental health.
  • Unit 3 – Treatment and Support at Work – In this unit you will explore the various treatment approaches, including hormone replacement therapy (HRT), herbal remedies and lifestyle adjustments, such as diet and exercise.
  • Unit 4 – Creating a menopause-Friendly Workplace – In the final unit of the Menopause Awareness in the Workplace course, you will explore how to create a menopause-friendly workplace.

Requirements

You are required to complete a 30 question multiple choice quiz at the end of the course. Where you need to achieve at least 80% or above to pass. You can complete the quiz as many times as you need to pass.
