Lecture 3 focuses on medication administration and safety, covering safe and accurate administration principles, common medication errors and prevention strategies, and the “5 Rights” of medication administration. Content is presented from an awareness and policy perspective only.
Lecture 4 explores medicines storage and handling, including storage principles, labelling requirements, temperature-sensitive medications, and factors contributing to medication degradation. Learners gain understanding of how correct handling supports medication effectiveness and safety.
Lecture 5 focuses on patient-centred care and communication, developing awareness of effective communication with patients, addressing medication-related concerns, and promoting adherence through education and support.
Lecture 6 examines medicines management in special populations, including paediatric and elderly patients, pregnant and breastfeeding individuals, and patients with specific medical conditions. Learners explore how medicines management must be adapted to meet individual needs safely.
Lecture 7 addresses quality assurance and auditing, covering the role of quality systems in medicines management, audit and assessment processes, and strategies for continuous improvement and risk reduction.
Assessment includes a final exam to evaluate understanding of medicines management principles, safety awareness, legal responsibilities, and professional practice concepts.

Upon successful completion of the Medicines Management Fundamentals Level 3 course, learners will receive a free digital certificate provided by Reed confirming their achievement and knowledge development.
