Course Curriculum: Advanced Diploma in Journalism at QLS Level 7
Learners will be introduced to the principles and history of journalism. This includes an understanding of the development of journalism as a profession and the different types, such as newspaper, television, and radio journalism. Learners will also develop interviewing skills and learn how to write news articles for other mediums.
Learners will deepen their understanding of journalism by studying media regulatory bodies and journalism law. They will also learn about defamation and journalism ethics and develop health and safety practices for journalists. Learners will develop skills in niche journalism, feature writing, and online/freelance journalism. The course concludes with a module on becoming a journalist, giving learners practical tips on breaking into the industry.
