Overview

This bespoke workshop is designed to help managers at all levels improve their ability to cope with stress, both personally and in working with their teams. It will help explore what causes stress and its impacts, before turning to a range of ways that managers and staff can prevent and address stress to reduce its effects. It will also fully explore who has what responsibilities in terms of managing stress, and how the council’s procedures and support structures should work for staff and managers.

  • Describe a selection of real-life impacts of stress
  • List potential indicators of stress
  • Recognise and pick out stress factors that may contribute to stress
  • Recognise the presence of stress in you and your team, by referring to the indicators in Council guidelines

  • Apply the most appropriate tool from a range suggested to help manage your stress levels
  • List your responsibilities

Who is this course for?

All managers, particularly those who feel stress may affect themselves or their team, now or in the future. It is not recommended that anyone attends both this and the Managing Stress for Staff course, as there is a large amount of content overlap.
