Description
Conflict can range from minor and harmless to highly significant and extremely harmful for the individuals concerned and for the organization. The skills involved in managing conflict can therefore prove invaluable in the workplace as well as in family and community life.
Situations involving conflict can create considerable anxiety and distress. Unfortunately, this means that many people choose taking the easy way out by pretending the conflict does not exist – what is often called the ostrich approach. This is not a wise move, as it risks making the situation much worse. This course therefore clarifies what is involved in conflict and offers helpful guidance on how to prevent conflict and how to manage it effectively when it does arise.
Recognizing that some form of conflict is normal and natural and therefore facing up to the reality of conflict as part of life is therefore an important step forward. The course discusses the four levels of conflict and introduces the RED model for addressing it.
This course will give you a much fuller understanding of conflict, its causes and consequences and be much more confident and better equipped to tackle conflict and prevent it from being more of a problem than it needs to be.
