The Team Leading programme is a 13-month qualification designed to significantly develop your leadership and management skills, preparing you to take on more complex managerial roles with confidence and skill.
The programme offers a blend of workshops and one-on-one mentoring. This allows you to gain new skills and a qualification meaning improved performance, higher earning potential and new job opportunities.

Qualification
Description
During this programme learners will attend an online workshop and have a one-to-one session with their Management Mentor every four weeks.
After each session the learners will need to complete a reflective account looking at what they have taken from the workshop, and how this new knowledge has or could be used within their job role.
Learning Outcomes:
- Leadership Skills: Develop a thorough understanding of various leadership styles, and learn how to effectively apply them to lead and manage teams. You'll be equipped to provide direction, guidance, and support to your team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Project Management skills: Gain solid foundation in project management, enabling you to plan, execute, and oversee projects successfully while managing resources, identifying risks, and ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
- Effective Communication Skills: Enhance your communication skills to improve interactions with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Learn how to convey ideas clearly, handle challenging conversations, and provide constructive feedback.
- Team Building and Development: Understand team dynamics and how to build and lead high-performing teams. You'll learn techniques to motivate team members, foster collaboration, and manage conflicts effectively ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
- Organisational Governance Knowledge: Acquire knowledge of human resources and financial management within an organisational context. This includes understanding legal requirements, performance management techniques, and budgeting.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address challenges and make informed decisions. You'll be equipped to analyse situations, devise strategic solutions, and implement changes effectively.
Who is this course for?
For anyone who has leadership and management responsibilities. Great for new managers or managers with experience but who haven’t had formal management training.
You responsibilities may include:
- Operational and project management tasks,
- Team leading,
- Provide direction and guidance to team members,
- Managing projects,
- Planning and monitoring workloads and resources,
- Execute operational plans,
- Problem-solving,
- Fostering internal and external relationships.
Requirements
The entry requirement for this apprenticeship will be Maths and English GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or higher. Functional skills tests may be required to be taken in Maths and/or English, as part of the programme, if no qualification or evidence available.
Career path
Progression
On completion, apprentices may choose to register as Associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership & Management, to support their professional career development and progression.
