Cataloguing and classification introduce the principles, standards, and tools used to organise information resources, including metadata concepts and the role of the semantic web. Reference services focus on different types of reference support, reference interview techniques, and evaluating information resources.
Information literacy explores its definition, importance, and how effective information literacy programmes are designed, delivered, and evaluated. Emerging technologies in library and information science examine digital libraries, repositories, mobile technologies, and the use of data analytics in information services.
Assessment and a final exam evaluate learners’ understanding of library and information science concepts, organisational principles, and technological awareness.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the Library and Information Science Fundamentals course, learners receive a free digital certificate confirming course completion. A provider-issued certificate is also available following verification, with optional premium certificates and academic transcripts available separately.
