Law Society Lexcel is the legal practice quality mark for excellence in legal practice management and client care and provides a flexible framework in which practices can develop procedures to achieve the required Standard in each of the seven areas assessed.
This course has been designed to provide viewers with a better understanding of what Lexcel v6 is and how it can benefit your business. Regardless of the size of your firm or the type of work which you undertake, this course will offer guidance on what is involved in the application process, assist you prepare for Lexcel Accreditation assessment and will signpost additional resources which will be of interest.

On completion of this course you will:
- Have a greater understanding of the legal framework and business structure which Lexcel provides and the risk management policies which firms must be aware of including:
- Equality & Discrimination
- Health & Safety
- Community & Social Responsibility
- Have considered business and marketing plans to assist your firm achieve business continuity and adopt resource planning
- Understand the importance of financial accounts, forecasts and credit management and how these can be used to greatest effect
- Be able to develop office procedures which incorporate IT, internet, email and social media policies and access
- Recognise the importance of training and development and the tools which can assist you when dealing with this aspect of people management e.g. appraisals, organisation charts and performance scales
- Be familiar with the three main risk categories; Strategic, Operational & Regulatory and the importance of Risk Assessment and Risk Registers
- Feel confident when handling client progression from enquiry to closure
- Understand the importance of expectation setting and complaints handling
- Be able to identify potential conflicts of interest and know how to deal with such matters effectively
- Be able to implement and adhere to decision process in respect of accepting or rejecting clients
