Our qualification will:

• Prepare students for employment;
• Support different roles in the health and safety workplace.
• This qualification is suitable for both part-time learners in the workplace and full-time learners who are able to participate in formal work placements or part-time employment.
• Learners may progress into employment in the health and safety sector.

This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence and have 12 months access to the course to complete entirely at their own pace. This is unit based which demonstrates your overall achievement of all the learning outcomes and criteria for each unit through written assignments, workplace observation, and submission of evidence. You must achieve a ‘pass’ for each unit which is performed by demonstrating evidence which manages to meet the assessment criteria.

The five units that all learners must complete to gain this qualification are:

Unit 1 – Risk-based safety management systems

Unit 2 – Safety culture, sustainability and the global effect on performance

Unit 3 – Digital technologies and incident investigation

Unit 4 – Development as a strategic manager

Unit 5 – Establish business risk management processes
