This qualification is competence-based, candidates must demonstrate the level of competence described in the units. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s skill, knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
Learners must produce a portfolio of evidence and have access to a 12 months course duration to complete entirely at their own pace. This is unit based which demonstrates your overall achievement of all the learning outcomes and criteria for each unit. You must achieve a ‘pass’ for each unit which is performed by demonstrating evidence which manages to meet the assessment criteria. Assessment includes written assignments, workplace observation, professional discussion, and submission of evidence.
The ten units that all learners must complete to gain this qualification are:
- Manage project processes in construction management
- Manage teams in construction management
- Provide advice, judgement and services ethically in construction management
- Develop yourself and others in construction management
- Control projects in construction management
- Plan a construction organisation’s workforce
- Prepare and agree a project brief and outline programme in construction management
- Ensure that contracts are prepared, negotiated and agreed in construction management
- Control budgets and contract payment entitlement in construction management
- Manage marketing and customer service in construction management
Who is this course for?
The NVQ Level 7 is ideal for those who want to become Senior Site Managers in Construction and apply for the Black CSCS Card or Managers Card.
Requirements
- This qualification is suitable for learners of 19 years of age and above.
- Learners must be in a voluntary or paid role within the sector.
- Learners must be able to demonstrate Maths and English at level 2
- Learners must have access to a qualified observer. This is someone who holds this qualification or an equivalent or higher.

Answer:Hi Henok. You will be required to demonstrate management capabilities throughout the course, in the form of observations. You will need to work with a workplace mentor (senior manager) to shadow them and complete the observations.
