Do you want to gain your QTLS? Are you in a trainee teacher role in a current role?
This is an online course, you have up to 12 Month to complete, but the course can be completed in a shorter time frame. During the course, you will have access to our learning site to complete the course and will be allocated a tutor to guide and support you. For each unit, there will be lessons that you can complete at your own pace.
You will complete the assignments on the Moodle site, as well as having access to teaching hours which will be observed.Each assignment has the criteria marked on it that it aims to cover. However, there may be cases where these are not fully covered. Your tutor will provide feedback online where you have uploaded your work as well as send you a progress report with feedback telling you what else you need to do to complete the assignment.
The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (Further Education and Skills) is a recognised qualification which is designed for those working or wishing to work as teachers within a further educational setting.
Learners will also carry out research into professionalism in education and training and consider their impact on their role as a fully qualified teacher.
You have contact with your tutor by e-mail, as well as the main office 9am to 5pm which is staffed only by employees who are qualified teachers or assessors and have experience with the courses, to be able to give you the most effective response to queries.

Description
The qualification will be assessed through a combination of written essays, a portfolio of teaching evidence and observation of teaching or training. All units, assignments and learning materials for the course can be accessed through our online learning platform. Students have 12 months access to the online learning platform where they may study entirely at their own pace. Furthermore, learners will be observed for a total of 10 sessions (minimum 45 minutes) during the course to assess the practical elements of the qualification.

Requirements
- All learners must have access to 250 hours of teaching in total, across 2 locations with 150 teaching and 20 hours of non-teaching practice.
- Students must be able to demonstrate skills in numeracy and literacy at a Level 2 standard
- You must be in-service or delivering sessions voluntarily – you will be observed in your workplace setting
- Good reading and writing skills in English
- Learners should be qualified/experienced in the subject they intend to teach.
- Learners must have access to a qualified observer. This is someone who holds this qualification or an equivalent or higher
- Learners are required to supply a DBS certificate.
