Overview

Are you looking to gain your QTLS?
Are you currently in a trainee teacher role?

Our course is delivered online and offers flexibility to suit your schedule. You have up to two years to complete the qualification, but many learners choose to finish it sooner. Throughout the course, you will have full access to our online learning platform and will be assigned a personal tutor who will guide and support you every step of the way.

Each unit includes self-paced online lessons, along with an optional live webinar each month (recordings are available if you're unable to attend live). After completing the lessons, you’ll move on to the online assignments. As this is a Level 5 qualification, you will be expected to engage in some independent research—though we provide initial reference points to get you started. You will also need to apply your learning directly to your own teaching practice.

Assignments are completed and submitted via our Moodle platform. In addition to coursework, you will also complete a number of teaching hours, which will be observed and assessed. Detailed information on the teaching hours, placement, and observation requirements is provided within the course materials.

Assignments may take various forms, including written tasks, reflective journals, or practical evidence from your teaching role. Each assignment clearly outlines the criteria it aims to meet. If any criteria are not fully addressed, your tutor will provide constructive feedback through Moodle and via a detailed progress report explaining what is needed for completion.

At the end of the course, once all units are successfully completed, you will take part in a 30-minute professional discussion, conducted by two qualified teachers—one from MKLC and one from your placement provider.

You can contact your tutor by email at any time, and our main office is open from 9am to 5pm. All staff are qualified teachers and assessors, equipped with first-hand knowledge of the course, ready to offer effective support.
