The qualification will be assessed through a combination of written essays, a portfolio of teaching evidence and observation of teaching or training. All units, assignments and learning materials for the course can be accessed through our online learning platform. Students have 12 months access to the online learning platform where they may study entirely at their own pace. Furthermore, learners will be observed for a total of 10 sessions (minimum 45 minutes) during the course to assess the practical elements of the qualification.

• Learners must have access to 250 hours of teaching across 2 locations with 150 teaching, 20 hours of non-teaching practice and 20 hours of remote delivery.
• Numeracy and Literacy at a Level 2 standard.
• Paid or voluntary placement – you will be observed in your workplace setting
• Learners must provide a qualification for their specialist area at L3 or above, or a CPD plan showing that they are working towards such a qualification.
• Learners must have access to a qualified observer.
• Learners must have access to support from 2 members of staff at their placement.
• Learners must supply a DBS certificate.
