Duration and Delivery
The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) is fully online, enabling learners to study at a pace that best suits them. The course can be completed within 12 to 18 months, depending on prior experience and commitment. Delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), this qualification includes dedicated online tutor support to help learners successfully achieve their certification.
Who is this course for?
The learner must:
- Be aged 19+
- Hold minimum qualification at level 2 in both Maths and English
- Be qualified or experienced in subject specialism
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to study at Level 5 qualification
- Possess an adequate level of digital proficiency to accomplish the qualification requirements
Requirements
For the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills), learners must complete a minimum of 250 placement hours, divided into 150 teaching hours and 100 non-teaching hours. Teaching hours must be undertaken with learners aged 14+, preferably in an FE setting, with 100 hours dedicated to the specialist subject (including 80 hours of face-to-face delivery and 20 hours of live remote delivery) and 50 hours in a different subject area.
The 100 non-teaching hours must involve professional activities such as lesson planning, observations, team meetings, assessments, learner interviews, CPD activities, and other teaching-related duties.
Career path
Level 6 Diploma in Teaching and Learning, Level 7 Diploma in Education Management and Leadership, or any other Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
