Duration and Delivery
Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) course is designed to be completed entirely online, allowing learners to progress at a pace that suits them the best. It can take up to 12 months, depending on their previous experience and dedication to the course.
This Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) course is delivered through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) where all learners will be provided online tutor support to successfully complete their course.
Assessment and Verification
All units in this DiT (FE and Skills) course are internally assessed by our qualified assessors and externally verified by the awarding organisation. This process aligns with the Education and Training Foundation’s framework for teaching in further education.
Learners will be assessed through a portfolio of evidence consisting of written assignments along with the evidence of the 250 hours of work placement log, a record of a minimum of 10 observations (45 minutes each) and work samples.
Finally, learners will participate in a final assessment involving a 30-minute professional discussion about any aspect of professional practice conducted with two qualified teachers/assessors, one from Britannia School of Academics and one from their placement.

Level 5 DiT Qualification is ideal for learners who intend to teach and train in the FE and skills sector including adult and communication education, FE colleges, offender education, work-based learning providers, third or voluntary sector and independent training organisations.
Requirements
Entry Requirements:
The learner must:
- Be aged 19+
- Hold minimum qualification at level 2 in both Maths and English
- Be qualified or experienced in subject specialism
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to study at Level 5 qualification
- Possess an adequate level of digital proficiency to accomplish the qualification requirements
Career path
Progression
Successful completion of this teaching qualification will allow learners to secure placement within the lifelong learning and FE and Skills sectors. This qualification makes them eligible for progression to Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills status (QTLS).
