Description
Throughout the course, learners will demonstrate their ability to transfer the findings of their research into their own practice. There is a requirement for 50 hours teaching/training practice and you must be qualified at Level 3 within the specialism for this course.
Learners will develop their skills as they progress through topics of literacy teaching and learning, literacy theories and frameworks and literacy and the learners.
Plus a £250.00 certification fee.
Who is this course for?
This qualification is suitable for those who are qualified teachers and want the opportunity to further explore underpinning theories, frameworks and research into effective teaching and learning alongside developing practical teaching skills, specifically in English. The course aims to develop these specific skills to prepare you to become a teacher of English/literacy.
Requirements
- All learners must have access to 100 hours of teaching
- Students must be able to demonstrate skills in Maths and English at Level 2
- You must be in-service or delivering sessions voluntarily – you will be observed in your workplace setting
- Good reading and writing skills in English
- Learners should be qualified/experienced in the subject they intend to teach.
- Learners should be qualified in English at a Level 3 or above standard
- Learners should hold a full teaching qualification
Career path
Upon completion of the level 5 diploma learners will be able to apply to the society for education and training for Qualified teacher learning and skills (QTLS) Status and therefore become a fully qualified teacher.
