The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF), covers all the knowledge and skills requirements of managers in various care settings regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England, whether health care or social care, according to the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.
This qualification is for those who manage care and support services within the adult care sector in England only.
You must live and work in England to do study for this qualification.
Usual job roles for those working towards this qualification include:

Note: Those currently not in management jobs can study the Level 4 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF) does not require the learner to be working as a care manager.
Study Programme Content
To complete the Highfield Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF), learners must complete a minimum of 80 credits along the following Awarding Body Rules of Combination:
• all units contained within the mandatory group totaling 60 credits
• a minimum of 20 credits across the optional groups:
o a maximum of 6 credits from optional group A
o the remaining credits from optional group B, minimum of 14 credits

Training and Learning:
Learning support delivery methods include:

How Learning is Assessed
Knowledge and Understanding are assessed through a series of written questions and answers. The answers are not auto-marked. An Assessor will read and mark each and every assignment submitted.
Competence and practical skills are assessed using a variety of assessment methods including:
- Work-products evidence
- Personal Statements
- Reflective Accounts
- Case Studies
- Professional Discussions
Learners will be guided and supported to prepare for assessments.
An Assessor will assess every work-based evidence submitted.
There are no workplace visits.
All assessments will be signed off by the Assessor, and there is no need to involve your Manager or your Employer.
How long does it take to complete the course
Normal duration is between 12 and 18 months.
Quality Assurance of Assessment of the learner's portfolio of evidence
Each learner's portfolio of evidence is quality-assured twice, first by the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), and second, by the External Quality Assurer (EQA), when the portfolio of evidence is submitted to the Awarding Body for the awarding body quality assurance, final sign-off, and Awarding Body certification.
What certificates do you get?
On full completion the learner will receive the full Awarding Body certification for Highfield Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care (RQF), issued by Highfield Qualifications (Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance - HABC).

Requirements
You must live and work in England. Learners need to have access to a computer/laptop/tablet with internet access, to be able to use the e-Portfolio.
Learners need to be employed in a suitable role within the health and social care or children and young people’s sector. Those not in a management/supervisory role should move to such a job role in order to evidence their skills and competence.
We advise that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (or equivalent) to undertake this qualification.
Learners should demonstrate prior achievement of qualifications at a minimum of level 3 in a related care area.
Career path
Completing this qualification makes you qualified to manage a care facility or health facility for adults, and eligible for Registered Manager status with the CQC.
You can further progress to Regional/Operations Manager, to manage a group of care settings, or own a care business.
