Answer:
Hello
As long as you have competence in English, access to 100 hours of teaching (over a 1 year period) and some previous study you can take the course.
As the course is OFQUAL accredited it is internationally recognised as a teaching qualification. The L5 DET is very popular in Asia and the Middle East.
Thanks
Hi, I have already done PTTLS, would it be helpful in this course in terms of reducing any module or not?
Answer:
Hello Nadia
The level 4 Education and Training and the Level 5 have 2 units in common which allows candidates via Recognition of prior learning (APL/RPL) to miss out those units.
Sadly with the Level 3 (PTLLS) the qualification is mapped as Level 3 on the QCF (OFQUAL) and therefore cannot be used in lieu of any of the L5 units.
The advantage that you will have is that you will have a refined understanding of pedagogy beforehand and this will be advantageous throughout the course.
Thanks

Answer:
The level 4 Education and Training and the Level 5 have 2 units in common which allows candidates via Recognition of prior learning (APL/RPL) to miss out those units.
Sadly with the Level 3/4 (TA) the qualification is mapped as a completely different specialism on the QCF (OFQUAL) and therefore cannot be used in lieu of any of the L5 units.
The advantage that you will have is that you will have a refined understanding of pedagogy beforehand and this will be advantageous throughout the course.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.
An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
