The IQA is an online self paced course for those looking to verify the work of assessors or those who need to be aware of the quality assurance process.
There are three units available, the Award is the first two units. The first is a theory unit comprised of assignments, for unit 2 you will need to have access to at least two assessors who are seeing candidates through assessments.During the course you will be assigned a tutor to guide and support you through.
There are three units on the course, you can choose to take just unit 1 if you only need to be aware of quality assurance, but will not be actively carrying out internal verification. Unit two is the practical unit, having unit 1 & 2 will mean you are an accredited internal verifier. There is then the option of taking the third unit if you are leading a team of verifiers.
Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment.
This is comprised of 8 assignments, there is material and resources available on the Moodle and you will also need to carry out further research to complete the assignments.
Unit 2: Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment.
You will need to have access to at least two assessors, both of which are seeing at least two candidates through assessments.
Unit 3: Plan, Allocate and Monitor Work in Own Area of Responsibility.
This unit is for those overseeing a team of verifiers.

Who is this course for?
The course is for people who only verify the work of other assessors, but do not lead a team of internal verifiers.
You need to be a minimum of 19 years of age. For unit 2 the student needs to monitor a minimum of two assessors each with a minimum of two candidates of their own. Assessment activities may include sampling, observations and standardisation meetings.
