Qualification Assessment

This Teaching Assistant Diploma is fully assessed via tutor marked assignments along with classroom observations. Upon completion of each module the learner will be required to complete a series of tasks, requiring essay style answers, which are sent to the tutor for marking. Observation of certain tasks by a competent person (Expert Witness) will also be required within the school setting. (Ask us for further information)

Upon completion of all the Teaching Assistant course assignments and observations, the work is then subject to internal and external moderation to ensure consistency, fairness and that all standards have been properly applied and met.

Please Note: a Teaching Assistant work placement of at least 50 hours is required to complete this option. This workplace MUST be in a school setting. This can either be a primary, secondary or special school, however you MUST also ensure that the pupils you work with are aged 5+ and are studying at Key Stage 1 or above.

Study Time

The guided study hours to complete your TQUK Level Teaching Assistant 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (RQF) Qualification are an approximate figure and are dependent upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. You should allow enough time to complete assignments/ question papers to ensure satisfactory outcomes are met.

The approximate amount of time required to complete the qualification is: 232 hours.

You will have an initial 12 months in to complete your studies however, you can finish it fast should you wish.

Qualification Requirements

  • To achieve the observational units, the awarding body requires a relevant work placement of a minimum of 50 hours in a school. We recommend 2 days a week (16 hours) for good practice, however this is dependant on the schools availability. This can include voluntary or paid work.
  • Students should have access to a computer and the internet throughout your study period.
  • Learners should have basic PC skills in order to navigate our Learner Management System (LMS)
  • Must be aged 16 and over

This Teaching Assistant Diploma will enable you to qualify and work towards becoming a HLTA. It is a fully regulated and regulated Teaching Assistant Diploma qualification.
