It is an estimate of the total length of time that a learner is expected to spend demonstrating mastery of all learning objectives in order to receive the qualification.

The total qualifying time (GLH) is an estimate of how much time a learner will commit to preparation, study, and assessment. It is not the basis for supervision by a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. TQT defines the credit value in the case of qualification, and one credit equates to ten hours of study.
