Description

You will learn the skills required of an EPA and the practice and process of end point assessment. It will provide specific knowledge and skills for those who already have sector/occupational competence, but would like to gain a more specialised understanding of EPA processes and practices. It will support them to understand and use EPA principles and practices to assess an apprentice against an apprenticeship standard.

The Principles and Practices of End-Point Assessment

This qualification is delivered by the following method:

Part 1 - Before you attend the training, you will receive resources and a short question and answer assignment to complete before the training. You will have email contact with the tutors to give you guidance and support. This will demonstrate your understanding and knowledge.

You will email the completed assessment back to your tutor for assessment and feedback. This must be submitted within 10 days following the face-to-face event. If additional evidence is required, you must submit this within 10 working days.

Part 2 - You will attend the face-to-face training day and this will include:

  • Information about End Point Assessment and Apprenticeships
  • How to conduct End Point Assessmnets
  • Grading of End Point Assessments
  • Providing feedback
  • Quality Assurance processes

As part of your qualification, you will demonstrate your skills by taking part in paired activities during the day.

On successful completion of Part 1 and 2, your qualification will be complete and your certificate will be claimed from the Awarding Organisation.

Trainers

Sam Sutton and Anne Horn are both IQA’s and Independent End Point Assessors for a number of large End Point Assessment organisations and have been involved in the pilot implementation of EPA assessments for the new Apprenticeship standards.

Julie Train is currently working nationally with several large End Point Assessor Organisations as an Independent Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer. Julie is an experienced tutor, assessor and IQA and has a wealth of experience and knowledge around apprenticeship delivery including the new apprenticeship standards and quality assurance. Julie has excellent knowledge and experience of apprenticeship employer engagement and business development.

Our tutors are highly experienced and knowledgeable in the changes within the apprenticeship sector and have received incredible feedback from delegates attending this training.

Sam and Anne have many years of experience successfully delivering apprenticeships and delivering high quality training. They also deliver Assessor, Internal Quality Assurance qualifications and Initial Teacher Training. They write resources for Awarding Organisations and are External Quality Assurers. As former Ofsted Inspectors, Sam and Anne also provide consultancy services to colleges and apprenticeship training providers to prepare for Ofsted inspections and monitoring visits.
