Hi. I know we need a placement. But do we have direct observations in our workplace or is it all done online Thank you

Answer:

Hi Amber, Yes, direct observations are required as this is a work based qualification. These can be done using an expert witness from your setting or we can arrange for an assessor from the college to visit your setting and do them for you at an additional charge. If you use your own expert witness then the person must be suitably qualified as below: A qualified teacher (QTS) , A qualified assessor or hold a LV4 qualification in Early Years.

Jen asked:

Am i able to apply to take this course if i don't have my GCSC’s?I am a Canadian who will be moving to the UK that is working with children currently

Answer:

Hi Jen, Although GCSEs are not required to register for the course, they will be for employment purposes once qualified. So you can actually take them after the course if you wish. Please note: That you would be required to be employed or volunteering in a nursery/preschool here in the UK to take this course. Once you arrive in the UK, maybe you could arrange to volunteer and then make contact? Any questions in between, then please do not hesitate to come back to us.
