Course units

The Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools consists of 11 units::

Assessment

This programme is assessed through a series of Tutor Marked assignments alongside practical work which is assessed in the workplace.

A written assignment is required for each unit, this is assessed by your tutor. Completed assignments provide evidence towards the required learning outcome for each unit and contributes to your course portfolio.

You will also be required to complete practical activities for some units. This is assessed in the workplace and is evidenced through witness testimonies, signed by your supervisor at your placement. A minimum of 50 hours is required to complete the practical tasks, this can be split over the duration of the course.

Requirements

There are no specific entry requirements, however, learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or equivalent. Learners should be keen to work in the sector to support teaching and learning in schools. They should also have attention to detail and be willing to work in a team environment, whilst also being willing to work using their own initiative when required.

You need to be in placement in a school where you can obtain your 50 hours practical evidence to complete your course.
