Overview

This qualification is for those who assess in a work environment and a non-work environment (for example, a workshop, classroom or other training facilities). It is composed of 3 units, with 84 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) studied over a fixed 12-week period.

Description

Become a qualified assessor with our 12-week programme. You will participate in regular group webinars (held on Thursday evenings) and have access to 1-2-1 tutor support. Throughout the course, you will study towards 3 units. You will complete a written assignment and put together a portfolio of evidence using our easy-to-use online system, SimpleVLE.

Requirements

You must be working in an assessment role, or have access to two learners through a placement. It is highly recommended that you nominate a Workplace Mentor, who can provide support, information, advice and guidance throughout your course.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
