Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

Description

CAVA replaces the previous Assessor (A1 and A2) and Verifier (V1 and V2) qualifications and represent the current standards for assessing and internal quality assurance.

CAVA comprises 3 Units:

Assessing Competence in The Work Environment - You will know how to effectively assess learner’s occupational competence within the work environment. You will plan assessments and make valid and robust assessment decisions, using a variety of assessment materials to confirm workplace competence using the correct documentation. You’ll also understand the importance of the quality assurance processes in assessment.

Assess Vocational Skills, Knowledge and Understanding – You will learn how to effectively assess vocational skills, knowledge and understanding within the work place. You’ll apply a range of assessment methods and resources to ensure a reliable assessment, as well as analyse evidence of learner achievement, communicating outcomes clearly in a non- judgemental and valid way.

Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment - You will be able to explain the responsibility of the assessor and learners, evaluate varied and current methods of assessment, including holistic assessment and understand the process and importance of feedback to the learner.

You will be working either one to one with your tutor or in a small group and sessions are designed to fit around you and your current commitments. We will have four full days of classroom sessions then one to two further assessment sessions in your workplace (around one hour each time).

Careers advice and guidance is offered throughout the course.
