Overview

The aim of the Level 3 Award in Awareness of End of Life Care is to develop the learner’s understanding of working in end of life care; how to provide support when working in end of life care and how to support individuals during the last days of life. It is relevant as an introduction for those working or planning to work in a role which involves end of life care.

Description

The qualification will be assessed through a number of essays constructed into an online portfolio. All units, assignments and learning materials for the course can be accessed through our online learning platform. Students have 12 months access to the online learning platform where they may study entirely at their own pace. Learners on the course will cover the following units:

  • Understand how to work in end of life care
  • Understand how to provide support when working in end of life care
  • Understand how to support individuals during the last days of life

Whilst on the course learners will receive the following all-inclusive features:

  • Unlimited tutor support – You will receive live personal tutor support throughout the duration of your course. Your highly-qualified tutor will be available from Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm via email and telephone.
  • Rapid marking response – Submissions of work are marked within 3 working days to ensure that you progress through your course as efficiently as possible.
  • No deadlines – We do not impose any deadlines on our courses; you can complete the qualification entirely at your own pace throughout the duration of the course.

  • Observations– You will also have access to one of our observers who can come out to your location at no extra cost. This means that the practical aspects of your course can be completed, and you don’t have to worry about additional payments!

Who is this course for?

This course can be completed by non-specialists who wish to develop their knowledge on end of life care, alternatively, it can also be used to complement practical work within a relevant work-place environment. The course will help students to reinforce their practice with theoretical knowledge and may also give students the opportunity to look at aspects of health and social care that they have not been involved with previously.

Requirements

  • Students must be able to demonstrate skills in Maths and English at Level 2
  • Students must be at least 16 years old

Career path

Learners upon completing this course may look to progress onto other qualifications such as the Level 3 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care or the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care in order to advance their career development further and create more working opportunities.
