The Level 3 Assessor Competence A1 TAQA Course includes two main units:

1. Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment (Code: D/601/5313)
2. Unit 2: Assess Occupational Competence in the Work Environment (Code: H/601/5314)

This course teaches you how to assess someone’s skills and knowledge while they are working. You will learn how to use different methods such as observing them on the job, checking their work, having discussions, and asking questions.

This is a 9-credit qualification and is also known as the A1 Assessor or TAQA course. It is designed for people who want to become assessors in real work environments. You will learn to collect evidence in different ways, such as:

• Observing work tasks

• Reviewing completed work

• Asking questions (oral or written)

• Using statements from the learner or their colleagues

• Recognising previous experience and skills (RPL)
