Level 3 Award in Education and Training AET formerly known as PTLLS Course is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach adult in any specialty subject area. This course is suitable for someone who wants to work as a teacher/trainer/tutor in further education. Russbridge Academy are delighted to offer Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) qualification via Distance Learning / Online or Classroom Based. This Level 3 AET is a direct replacement qualification of Level 3/4 Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) course sometimes also referred to colloquially as “PETALS” since 2011.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training AET Course is an initial teacher training qualification, is also a Quality Credit Frameworks (QCF) qualification. This course is best suits for those who are new to teaching, or wishing to start out a teacher / trainer or currently teaching in England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Level 3 Award in Education and Training AET /PTLLS is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach any adult people in any subject area and certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.

Course Introduction:
Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) course is designed to contribute towards the knowledge and understanding for Further Education National Training Organisation (FENTO) or the Employment National Training Organisation (EMPNTO) occupational standards in the United Kingdom. This course is designed for anyone wishing to enter in the adult training and teaching industry in this country.

Classroom Based Course:
It is a 3 days classroom session from 10am to 5pm. We have over 35 venues in the UK; covering all the major cities. This course will be taught and trained by an experienced teacher, who will use a wide range of teaching activities; including lectures, group work, discussion, demonstrations, candidates presentations and many more activities that help learning. Our courses are designed to be convenient and intuitive and delivered as part of a holistic approach that is supported by our awarding bodies. Micro teaching is an activity where trainee teachers prepare and deliver a short teaching and learning session to their peers.

Online / Distance Learning Course:
This qualification is delivered through our online based learning platform or classroom based with full tutor support throughout the course. A great option for anyone wishing to get the qualification using Online / Distance Learning method with the option to study from anywhere at anytime with our tutor support. You will be given full access to the Online Portal. You will be given up to 16 weeks to complete the assignments; however if you finish earlier, your certificate will be awarded early as long as you meet the required standard, you do not need to wait for 16 weeks.

Within the 16 weeks, you need to come in for 1 day micro-teach and assessment at any of our training venues close to you or you can do the Micro Teach from your home/workplace and send the video record along with the portfolio. During the micro teach, you will be observed by other delegates on the course and your tutor. Necessary resources such as computer, projector, flip chart will be provided for your micro-teach session. But you need to design a session plan, PowerPoint presentation, hand-outs etc. in your sector / industry. Our online course allows you to access other micro teach sessions in our one of the venues to observe as part of your course if you do not have anyone to observe yourself. However, if you like you can do this micro-teach session from your place and send it to us and will get assessed.

Group Booking:
We provide in-house / Onsite training for corporate clients in anywhere in the country. You can arrange group a booking by calling, emailing us; our trainer will come to your place to deliver the training in your place. Our classroom facilities are located all over the UK to provide you the choice of delivery that suits you and your delegates on the courses. Course Assessment:
There is no formal examination is required, but at the end of the course you need to submit a portfolio via email or by post to our head office. You will also be required to provide supporting evidence and an observation with written on the micro teach delivery aspect of the course.
