Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Catering (RQF)

This is a unique system - completing the e learning package developed by the Awarding Organisation coupled with remote assessment for the exam. You can gain this very credible RCF Regulated Award from the comfort of your own home.

You will be registered as a learner through my centre with Highfeld Qualifications so you will need to provide photographic identification, both to be registered and when you do the online exam.

Once that process is complete you will need to complete the e learning if you need help you can contact me on anything you are unsure of. At the end of the e learning complete the initial online assessment and print off your certificate.

Once I see your completion certificate I will put you forward for remote assessment for the regulated certificate. This is via the Proctor at Home exam invigilation system managed by Highfield your will need a PC/Laptop running Windows 7 or a Mac Operating sytem both of which run Chrome and with a webcam PLUS a smart phone running Android 4.1 or higher or an iPhone 8 or higher both must have camera and video facility. These will be needed to manage remote invigilation and security whilst you sit the exam, i.e. you are watched completing the multiple choice questions exam.

Once this regulated exam is passed, the full regulated award certificate will be issued by Highfield Qualifcations.

Who is this course for?

This food safety training course is suitable for those working in a catering environment who are responsible for handling food. As it's regulated it's perfect for those that need to prepare an application for a MCA Ships' Cook certificate.


It's recommende that you have Level 1 English and Maths and ICT ability.

You should be 14 years or older.

Career path

Progress to Level 3 Food Safety (Supervisor and Manager level). This can be completed remotely too.

What does study method mean?

What is an ‘endorsed’ course?

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body’s logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
