A food hygiene & safety Level 2 course in Catering is ideal for those who work with or handle food in the catering industry. This online food safety & hygiene course will provide the knowledge to meet the required levels of inspection, audit and due diligence, ensuring high standards are being kept.
Accepted by most authorities, to be the starting point for those handling and preparing food, and this CIEH accredited online level 2 food course will enable you to train your staff simply, to obtain an internationally recognised certificate.
Users can work through this course in their own time, but the average time spent is about 2 hours with a 30 multi-choice end test. 75% is the pass mark with the user printing their certificate from their pc (or emailing it to another pc). Should candidates not achieve a pass rate of 75% they are automatically entitled to a free resit. Our staff will make a resit available. Your certificate is registered with CIEH and has a QR code which enables the authority of the certificate to be verified. This is a most useful addition for employers who may receive a copy certificate in a job application.
The course is in 5 modules. The general module topics are:
- The importance of food safety
- Personal hygiene
- Safe cleaning and the use of chemicals
- Food safety hazards
- Temperature control and safe food storage
The course content meets the accepted syllabus as required by all authorities and will meet audit requirements.

Who is this course for?
As stated, this course level is the preferred starting point for most food companies who employ food handlers. It is not necessary to take a Level 1 Food Safety course before doing this Level 2 Food Safety for Caterers. It is therefore suitable for use during induction and regular training and is ideal as an introduction for those users wishing to progress to a Level 3 Food Safety or HACCP course.
