Need 2 Succeed
Once you have completed your studies, you will have an industry-recognised qualification, and you will be able to confidently support the personal and social education of young people in paid employment or working as part of the voluntary sector in the UK.
The Level 2 Certificate in Youth Work Practice is a combined qualification that is made up of both knowledge and competence units. It is a vocational qualification that has been developed with the help of employers and is based directly on the National Occupational Standards, which means learners are gaining the kind of skills that employers are looking for.
Achieving Level 2 will help you develop your underpinning knowledge and work skills you require to competently work towards or carry out the role of Assistant Youth Support Worker at Level 2. It confirms that you are occupationally competent and allows you to gain and then show the skills and knowledge that are needed to work in the Youth Work Sector. It also prepares you to enter specific job roles and/or apprenticeship (e.g. the Advanced Level in Youth Work and Management).
The SEG Awards ABC Level 2 Award and Certificate in Youth Work Practice, has been developed by industry experts including the National Youth Agency and the ETS of England and Wales. This qualification embraces the National Occupational Standards for youth work and is JNC recognised with endorsement by ETSEngland and Wales.
It supports the skills, and knowledge learners need to become a competent Assistant Youth Support Worker. Learners will complete this qualification with a concrete understanding and practical experience of the following:
- The essential purpose and role of youth work including the skills, knowledge, qualities and values required to practice
