Overview

The Level 2 HACCP qualifications provide individuals with the knowledge they need to understand the principles of HACCP, in particular how to identify and control hazards, how to monitor controls and what action to take when critical limits are breached. They will also appreciate how their role can affect food safety and how they can contribute to the HACCP system and product safety.

Description

This qualification will allow individuals to understand the importance of implementing a food safety management system, based on the Codex HACCP principles, in a Food Manufacturing environment. They will learn their role in ensuring the effective operation of the HACCP system and gain the knowledge to identify, control and monitor hazards at points critical to food safety within their business. They will also understand the importance of taking corrective action when critical limits are breached and become familiar with the documentation and records needed to support a HACCP system.

It is recommended that candidates have completed an HABC Level 2 Award in Food Safety, or the equivalent, before looking to achieve this qualification.

This qualification is achieved by taking a one day classroom based course. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidates must answer atleast 20 out of 30 questions correctly. The examination will take a maximum of 1 hour to complete.

from your tutor.

Requirements

There are no prerequisites for this qualification, however, it is advised that learners already hold the Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Manufacturing or equivalent.

It is also advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
