The Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs
ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course can be studied online with the advantage of being able to login to our webinar classes each week. This will give you an interactive experience where you will be taught by a tutor and have contact with other Students.
The online webinar classes will take place one evening a week from 6.30pm - 8.30pm, for 14 weeks. There will also be one lunchtime catch up session each week which will be arranged between the tutor and the Students you will be studying with. You will be able to login to the classes online via a link. We recommend that you do this with laptop or desktop computer, however a tablet can also be used.
All the course material and valuable Student resources are available through the Student and Member area of our website. There are no examinations for the course. You are assessed through coursework which consists of multiple-choice achievement tests and practical assessments. Although the class will take place over 14 weeks, you can take up to a year to submit your coursework if you wish. How soon you complete the course depends on how much time you put into your studies.
Our online webinar class is the perfect choice for someone who is thinking about studying our distance learning course but doesn’t want to miss out on having a tutor. It is also really beneficial for those who are unable to attend the evening class as they live outside of London or overseas.

ILSPA's Legal Secretaries Diploma course is equivalent to a Level 3 qualification. You will learn about the day-to-day tasks of a Legal Secretary, various areas of law, the legal profession and how the court system operates. The course also covers legal terminology, legal document production, how to complete legal forms and how to type professional correspondence.

ILSPA’s Legal Secretaries Diploma is suitable for:
- People with no previous experience in law
- Experienced Legal Secretaries who want to gain a formal qualification
- Law Graduates who want to gain practical skills
There are no entry requirements for the course, however we recommend that you have a good typing speed, computer literacy, an understanding of Microsoft Word, and a good standard of spoken and written English. If you don't have these skills, we advise that you acquire them whilst you are studying.
Legal Secretaries are an essential part of the legal profession and are always in high demand as they help lawyers with their work.
There is great opportunity for career advancement as the more experience gained, the higher salary you can achieve. Legal Secretaries can even progress on to working as Paralegals or Legal Executives with experience and training.
