ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy

This course is available for students who already hold a Level 3 qualification and certificate in Anatomy and Physiology, Body Massage, Professional Conduct and Business from the last 10 years at time of booking to secure your place (please contact to confirm that your qualification meets Itec requirements).

Students will learn the theory and effective practical techniques, develop an understanding of business and the skills it takes to become a successful therapist and build an exciting practice.

Course Content

Massage Theory and Practice

-The benefits and contraindications of an aromatherapy massage

- How to blend up to 42 essential oils and 19 carrier oils

- Understand the botanical plant families that essential oils belong to and their relevance

- Identify chemical constituents for each essential oil

- Using a variety of massage techniques including pressure points and lymph drainage

- A full body massage routine and how to adapt this to different clients

Assignments and Assessments

There will be quite a lot of time required for you to study at home - a minimum of 5 hours per week.

- 1 assignment to complete on essential oils

- 15 aromatherapy treatments some of which will be done in class

- 45 further treatments in the form of 9 case studies

- A practical examination lasting 1 hour

The above cost and requirements are based on you already having completed various assignments and a theory exam as indicated below. Evidence of this will be required at the time of enrollment. If you have not completed the following in the last 10 years, you will be required to undertake these and submit them for marking for which an additional cost will be charged. Course Duration

This is an intensive fast track course enabling students to qualify as an Aromatherapist massage therapist within seven months.

Following successful completion of your course, therapists have gone on to work in clinics, cruise ships, health clubs, hotels, do home visits or open their own practice to treat clients from.
