Overview

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level Certificate has been refreshed for 2018 and sets the new global standard for software testing and is seen as the benchmark against which software testing professionals are measured.

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) is the standard introductory qualification for those involved in software testing worldwide. This 3 day course provides comprehensive first-level training. The course covers the fundamentals of software testing, providing delegates with the necessary foundation for a career as a software testing professional. The course culminates in a one-hour multiple choice exam.

Focus offers ISTQB Software Testing Foundation courses in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds and 12 cities across the UK. The Foundation Software Testing course is sometimes referred to as BCS Foundation or ISEB Foundation because it is accredited in the UK by the British Computer Society.

Target Audience

The ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level is principally aimed at anyone directly involved in software testing who needs to demonstrate practical knowledge of the fundamental concepts such as testers, test analysts, test engineers, test leads, test consultants, test managers, user acceptance testers and software developers. It is also appropriate for project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, and consultants who have an interest in understanding the basic concepts of software testing.

Exams & Certification

The exam consists of a one hour exam with 40 multiple choice questions

It will be a 'closed book' [i.e. no notes or books will be allowed]

Duration of 60 minutes

The pass mark is 65% [ie 26 out of 40]

This is a demanding course and typical candidates will need to spend time in the evenings during the course to consolidate and revise material for the exam.
