Overview

This qualification has been developed to provide a broad based introduction to the practices and processes within welding. It also supports the development of personal skills and attributes that learners need in order to develop confidence in their ability to work, learn and achieve their full potential.

Description

This course is largely of a practical nature with a small element of theory. It is designed to give you the practical skills for welding specific joints and the knowledge to understand welding safety, machinery set-up and welding terminology.

This qualification is for students who:

  • Want to start a career in welding engineering

  • Are thinking about welding as a career but who would like some experience of the job role first

  • Are new to welding

  • Work in another aspect of welding engineering and require some practical training
