Description

The Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and practice is a level 4 qualification accredited by Pearson, an Ofqual accredited Awarding Body, ensuring the course meets a standard of quality. The course is one of the options available on the IQA, this combination of units is for those carrying out the IQA role. but not working as a lead IQA- if working as a lead IQA you may want to consider the Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.

Course Units:

  • Unit 1: Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment.

This is comprised of 8 assignments, there is material and resources available on the Moodle and you will also need to use your own practice and some independent research to complete the assignments.. The method of assessment of the unit is through written assignments, there are reasonable adjustments available for those who need them, for example professional discussions. Although it is mandatory, this unit alone does not qualify you to verify. Those who choose to complete only this unit will be those who need to know about verification but who are not going to carry out any verification activity.

  • Unit 2: Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment.

The aim of this unit is to assess the IQA trainee’s performance in assuring the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.

You will need to have access to at least two assessors, both of which are seeing at least two candidates through assessments and be observed carrying out these assessments. The observation will be a witness statement. You will need to produce a portfolio of evidence providing evidence to cover the different assessment criteria. The portfolio will include evidence such as sampling plans, feedback to assessors, evidence of standardisation meetings and evidence of CPD.

"Excellent, I would highly recommend" September 2021

"I think MKLC is one of the top training providers I have come across so far. I have completed two entire courses with you and to date I have no complaints. In terms of communication, I am always in the know whether its via email or the website itself. As for communication with the administration, I find that they are extremely helpful and are quick to assist with any issues that need resolving. The tutors communicated well with. They respond quickly to a question and return feedback on assignments quickly. The feedback that they provide is constructive. The resources you provide are very useful and allow for further research elsewhere. I am very happy with this service and I intend to complete other course with MKLC. Thank you for making learning so accessible and enjoyable" July 2021

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
