Formerly known as the Internal Verifier Award (D34) or the V1, this qualification is for people who verify the work of other assessors and want to become a moderator. Assessment activities may include sampling, observations, and standardised meetings, and the theory part of the course can be studied online. Upon completion of the course, you will be fully qualified to monitor the decisions of assessors and thus improve standards within an organisation.
It takes around 120 hours to complete this course.
Throughout this course, you may be expected to complete assignments, essays, research projects, posters, leaflets, presentations, PowerPoint presentations, video/audio recordings, work-based and practical learning sessions to meet the requirements of your course. This information will be included in your study pack detailing exactly what you need to do to accomplish your goals as a student.
You have up to a year to complete this course and we have included a suggested number of study hours in the Additional Information tab. This is usually ample time for learners, even with full-time jobs and other commitments. Don’t worry if you go over the year though, we can organise an extension to your course for an additional fee, which also extends your tutor support.
Each unit is followed by a written tutor-marked assignment (TMA), which is submitted and then marked by your tutor. You will not be required to take an external exam.
The purpose of this qualification is to confirm competence in an occupational role to the standards required. It is intended for those who maintain and improve the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
At the end of this course, successful learners will be awarded a formal certificate of achievement by NCFE. The training courses have been designed specifically to meet the needs of learners who prefer to study from home. You can read more about NCFE here.
