Description
You’ll begin by mastering the core concepts of risk and insurance: distinguishing risk from uncertainty, applying the six principles of insurance and understanding how insurable risks are defined and managed. From there, you’ll dive into Saudi Arabia’s legal and regulatory framework, including SAMA guidelines, cooperative health insurance rules and ethical best practices. Next, you’ll examine insurance operations—from underwriting and claims handling to reinsurance and motor-claims case studies—and explore the unique structure of Takaful through Shariah governance, tabarru’ pools and actuarial modelling.
Mid-programme, you’ll shift focus to risk-management principles, using ISO 31000 to identify, assess and control risks, and apply those methods across sectors such as oil and gas, construction, cyber and healthcare. The final modules guide you through financial and technical aspects like premium pricing, IFRS 17 reporting, and investment requirements, then cover the impact of InsurTech, AI, blockchain and predictive analytics on underwriting and claims. You’ll round off with strategic decision-making tools—catastrophe modelling, stress testing and business-continuity metrics—and prepare for future challenges in crisis management, climate risk and stakeholder communication, all aligned with Vision 2030’s resilience goals.
