The BPP Professional Education Group was founded over 40 years ago by Alan Brierley, Richard Price and Charles Prior in 1976 as Brierley Price Prior (BPP) to provide specialist training to accountancy students. Today, we are a global education provider delivering world-class professional apprenticeships, qualifications, degree programmes and professional development, as well as providing professional training materials which are studied in 186 countries.

We work as partners, not just providers; seeking to listen and understand your business goals and priorities so we can recommend the right solution. Our courses (and, since 2007, our university degree programmes), are designed in partnership with employers and respected professionals in the fields of actuary, accountancy, business and management, digital and technology, financial services, human resources, health and social care and law. We have also built close links with industry, professional bodies and the NHS to develop the industry’s professional development frameworks, so we understand the detail professional education and stay a step ahead.

We believe that a commitment to constant innovation will deliver our vision to be the leader in professional education. Our courses are delivered through a blend of Face-to-Face, Online and In-Classroom setting, including our award-winning virtual classrooms. We have excellent global resources and networks, which means we can provide whatever you need, anywhere in the world through our partners abroad.

Our tutors, most of whom have real-world practitioner experience, develop your people to have the practical skills and academic knowledge needed for success, to give them a competitive edge that makes them and the company they work for stand out and progress.

We work with 80% of the FTSE 100 companies and include many disciplines and sectors within our scope including financial services, public sector, health and social care, industry and commerce, law and the professions. Many UK and global law firms send their trainees exclusively to BPP University Law School and we also provide professional development for over 25,000 employees each year.

FAQs

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. At Reed Courses, courses are delivered in a number of ways, including online courses, where the course content can be accessed online remotely, and classroom courses, where courses are delivered in person at a classroom venue.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
